PRO PLAYER FOR 2010 by Mark Guest
*************************************************************
We have this week finalised the arrangements for our Pro Player for 2010. Joel Nupier is currently opening the batting for Cambletown Ghosts in Sydney Grade A cricket and is also a keeper which represents great value for us. Joel has a level 2 coaching badge as well so will be an asset to the Juniors during the season.

Joel is 23 years old and has been playing on and off in the UK over the last few years with his brother who is a Pro down in London . Joel’s highest score is 203 and last year his top score was 187, so we are hoping for great things from him, as long as he can negotiate the track at Sutton.

At the moment, if you can help out with looking after him, please drop us a line, we have arranged some accommodation for him, but still need some help so let us know if you can offer anything as every little helps! We are grateful to our sponsors Advance Air who have contributed a huge portion of the cost of the player.

SCCC secures funding for New Nets by Naeem Arif
*************************************************************I am pleased to say that following a lot of hard work and running around from the Fund Raising Committee, we are there (but for completion of some paperwork) in terms of securing the funding to replace our existing nets with a 3-lane state of the art practice facility at Rectory Park. This has been massively funded by a £30,000 grant from the ECB.

Thanks to Colin Greetham, Paul Heron, John Howard, Ken Lancaster & Peter Bell who have been involved in the fund raising work across the club

Pre-Season Trip to Lords Saturday 27th March
*************************************************************
The trip will be a great opportunity to get some intensive net sessions under the supervision of some of the best coaches money can buy.

The trip is being booked for the 2nd weekend in March and will involved 2 sets of 2 hour net coaching as well as a Tour of Lords. The coaching will be quite intensive with the use of the MCC’s Hawkeye technology as well as the creation of DVD’s per lane to record the sessions
Please contact a Club Captain or Coach to register your interest.

Stevo’s Social Scene by Andy Stevenson
*************************************************************
The next event on the horizon is the Games night being organised for the 19th Feb. This will be a fun and active evening so your chance to get back at your kids!

We will be running some games on the night, currently we have the following planned;

Skittles
Wii – Sports Resort
Playstation - Fifa 2009
Texas Hold’em Poker

We will also be arranging for some food on the evening as usual and will issue more details soon. Please let us know if you want to attend so we can plan numbers in advance
